How the estimate works
Estimated session cost = energy added in kWh × price per kWh + session fee. For 40 kWh at $0.30/kWh with a $2 session fee, that is 40 × 0.30 + 2 = $14.
The starting values are examples, not live station prices. This calculator compares energy-based rates in US dollars. It does not calculate per-minute billing or automatically add taxes, idle fees, parking charges, membership discounts, or energy losses.
Compare more than the headline rate
A lower per-kWh rate can still cost more if a session fee is large. The same station can also offer different rates for members, visitors, or certain times of day. Use the rate that applies to your vehicle and account.
If the station charges by time, you need an estimate of how long you will be plugged in. Vehicle limits, temperature, and battery state affect charging speed, so a charger’s advertised maximum power is not a guaranteed average.
